Greetings!
One can learn a great amount from simply hearing about a country's cultural practices, but that person can learn even more by viewing these cultural practices first-hand. With open minds, people can discover and further educate themselves on the many cultural aspects of ethnic groups around the world, and in particular, those in Spanish-speaking countries.
As mass communication students at Texas State University-San Marcos, we believe it is important to not only stay updated with global issues, but to raise awareness about them as well. The documentary format allows people of all backgrounds to engage the material presented and connect with those involved in the video. This site will examine the documentaries of Latin American students who participated in "Puntos de Vista" ("Points of View" in English), Texas State University's first international Spanish-language documentary festival, as well as offer the perspectives from the event.
